Last Sunday, Luca Pouille communicated his indignation over a video - shared by BMF Paris on Twitter - that featured Parisians enjoying the weekend’s good weather, strolling or jogging in a slightly-crowded French capital.

“Until imbeciles understand nothing, we will not move forward,” Pouille wrote, tagging the tweet ‘#Poor France’. “People have given their lives to help us fight this virus, people are fighting everyday to save lives... and you continue to act this way? You are a shame…”

A lot of the French’s followers answered his commentary by poiting out that going out is necessary for many, and that the country’s temporary rules regarding the pandemic do allow a certain amount of exterior activity. A high amount of responses were sarcastic, with users lamenting that they do not own a spacious house with included tennis courts - unlike Pouille himself - and arguing that Pouille does not pay taxes in France while hospitals could make use of more funds.

The same day, Liam Broady responded to a Twitter user’s question as to why it is badly seen for people to be about in empty and vast spaces, where the lack of crowd would prevent any virus contamination.

Broady shared his opinion on why such behavior is seen as counterproductive: “I think the point is that if 1 person did it then thousands upon thousands would do it ... Better for all to stay at home and be equal rather than try and take advantage of empty fields because everybody else is doing as told.”
