Thomas Bjorn on Luke Donald's decision to 'leave out' Adrian Meronk

Luke Donald received a lot of criticism considering that Adrian Meronk was not picked for the Ryder Cup. Thomas Bjorn is one of the few who understands Donald and understands the responsibility and difficult task of choosing the best ones. In an interview with the media, Bjorn emphasized that it is impossible to choose everyone and that someone has to stay at home. Meronk probably deserved to be part of the team with his qualities, but Donald is a man who has experience in this sport, and he knows some things well. At this moment, fans have to trust him, and the results will show!

"For the captain that's the toughest day of all when you have to make those phone calls, it really is just gut wrenching," Bjorn said, as quoted by skysports.com!

"But he's gone with his feelings, he's gone with what he believes is going to be the right team to be able to win the Ryder Cup.

And he had to leave somebody out, who arguably in some many people's worlds could have been there and some people think should have been there.

But that's the way the game is sometimes and we go with these 12 and our focus now turns to the 12 and not everything else that goes on.

Bjorn believes that Meronk deserves a place on the team. However, there are many factors that play a role in the whole story. Luke Donald certainly knows what he needs right now. It was precisely according to this feeling that he "assembled" his team. Things like this should be a motivation for Meronk to continue to be even better, and to show everyone that he deserves to be part of the team.

"They had fought so hard to be in the team and that's the same for Adrian - he's played some unbelievable golf.

He's done all the right things, but sometimes you've just got to look at it and go the captain has a feeling and an idea and sometimes that works out in a certain way. 

When there's 13 or 14 players and only 12 can go then somebody's going to be very disappointed."
