Australian tennis ace Nick Kyrgios enjoyed battling against Greek world No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas in front of his home fans at the ATP Cup.
Kyrgios, ranked at No. 29 in the world, edged out 2019 Nitto ATP Finals champion Tsitsipas 7-6 (7) 6-7 (3) 7-6 (5) to secure the win for his side over Greece.
In the opening rubber of the tie, Australian John Millman survived a tough challenge as he needed three sets to beat Greek world No. 486 Michail Pervolarakis.
With the win over Greece, Australia finished Group F with a perfect 3-0 record and now they will travel to Sydney for the knockout stage.
"I served really well in big moments but the atmosphere was awesome. We're carrying some momentum going to Sydney. It could have been easy to take your foot off the gas today. I thought both the Greeks showed up and I think they really wanted to win this tie, but I was happy we both got it done today," Kyrgios said, per the ATP Cup.
