Retired Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova posted a Happy New Year message to her fans on her social media account - Instagram - with a video that features her twin children.
The Russian star retains a huge fan following in the tennis world and across the public even though it has been nearly two decades since she retired. As a teenager, Kournikova attracted legions of fans to the sport with her looks and tennis and became a household name across the tennis world as well as across the general public. She reached the Top 10 in singles and was also the World's No. 1 ranked doubles player. She won the Australian Open Grand Slam doubles title in 1999 and 2002 as well as the WTA Championships in 1999 and 2000 with Martina Hingis.
She retired early at the age of 21 due to back problems. Since retiring she did play some exhibition events and the World Team Tennis events. She also appeared on the reality show The Biggest Loser in season 12 as one of the trainers. She is married to pop star Enrique Iglesias and the couple welcomed their twins - Nicholas and Lucy - in December 2017. Kournikova has remained mostly away from the spotlight since becoming a mother so it is a good surprise for her fans to see the message with her children.
