Sorry, Humberto Carrillo.
The scheduled United States title match between Carrillo and champion AJ Styles was canceled before the opening bell. Oh, Carrillo got his entrance and nearly made it all the way to the ring, but then Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked.
One Magic Killer on the steel steps was enough to keep Carrillo out for good.
Before The OC could beat up Carrillo any further, Ricochet came down to make the save. Then Randy Orton came down. Also, Drew McIntyre appeared. And just for good measure, Rey Mysterio wanted to add his two cents in.
The result of four dudes campaigning for a United States title match, while Humberto Carrillo’s body was still warm, was an impromptu number one contender’s match.
After chaos ensued, Mysterio worked an inside cradle on Ricochet for a surprise three count.
#USChampion @AJStylesOrg approves.

He'll defend his title against @reymysterio NEXT on #RAW! #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/C9YgFl04XY
With Gallows and Anderson still ringside, Mysterio’s title shot versus Styles began immediately following the fatal four way match.
The title match itself? It was a masterful display of pro wrestling between the 42 year old Styles and the 44 year old Mysterio. From the action between the ropes, to The OC getting tossed from ringside, a ref bump, more heel shenanigans, and Randy Orton making the save, it made for one of the better WWE matches of the four day Chicago weekend.
With a little help from @RandyOrton ( ♂️), @reymysterio is now your NEW #USChampion! #RAW pic.twitter.com/yZPN5V7Hq4
