The six-time Major winner Boris Becker believes that Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will still be the favorites in the Grand Slams next year. The German former player said: "The secret of the success of Federer and Nadal and even Djokovic is scheduling. They know how to peak. In my opinion, the younger players play too much. But at his age, you have to play more matches to learn more. Now he's arrived, he'll have to be more careful with his schedule next year."
Asked what we learned from this year's ATP Finals, Becker replied: "We have learned the young generation are coming strong, are knocking at the door and in some cases this week have broken through. I expect some of the younger ones to win a Grand Slam next year, but having said that the three veterans are still standing firm. It is a great time in tennis when you see the young competing against the older ones."
Russia's tennis chief Shamil Tarpischev said: "I think Medvedev had a very successful season of course. He could have done more if he did not play eight finals. That's a bit too much. Such an amount of matches influenced him physically and mentally. He just did not manage to recover for the Finals.
