Kingston blocks Ziggler from getting another title shot

Kofi Kingston has had a hell of a last 48 hours.

On Sunday night Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler in a steel cage match. Monday night on Raw saw the WWE Champion beat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in back to back matches. To top it off, Kofi was choked out by Samoa Joe post-match on Monday.

So of course Kingston was put into a two out of three falls match against Ziggler Tuesday night on SmackDown. The stipulation added to the SmackDown main event was if The Showoff got by Kingston, Ziggler would join Joe in the champ’s title defense at Extreme Rules.

Since the lead up to WrestleMania 35 Kingston has been on fire between the ropes, but this was a tall ask for the father of #KofiMania.

The champ got the first fall rather quickly, but was attacked outside of the ring by Ziggler in between the first and second falls.

Ziggs would hit a Super Kick at the start of the second fall and even the match-up at one to one.

The third and final fall was a spectacular display of wrestling from both men.

Ziggler had every opportunity in the world to put away Kingston, but he just could not get over the final hump. Kingston blocked another Super Kick attempt from Ziggler, only to counter it with the second Trouble in Paradise of the night to win the third fall.

With Kofi Kingston moving on, what’s the next logical move for the career of Dolph Ziggler?
