What a season of drama it’s been
No one can quite believe what the Champions League is throwing up this season after another thrilling game between Ajax and Tottenham.
It’s certainly been a season of drama on the biggest stage in club football.
We had plenty of drama in the group stage as well as drama in the form of Manchester United knocking Paris Saint-Germain out in the last-16.
Though, despite all of the games prior, this week really has been possibly the most dramatic in Champions League history.
A week of twists and turns
We started off the week by watching Liverpool overturn a three-goal deficit at Anfield to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League.
Despite being dominated in the main at the Camp Nou, Liverpool came roaring back on their own turf to complete the most historic of comebacks.
Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum scored a brace each with three of Liverpool’s goals coming in the second-half including Origi’s incredible 79th-minute winner.
Quick thinking from Alexander-Arnold – and just as quick from the ballboy.

Though, just when we thought there was enough drama for the week, Spurs’ clash with Ajax threw up even more shocks.
Ajax took an early 2-0 lead after impressive goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech.
Not only were they ahead, Ajax were completely in control as the game reached half-time.
Spurs truly looked down and out, needing to score three goals to go through.
That was until the second half where they came out fighting, just as Liverpool did the night before.
They finally made their breakthrough in the 55th minute when Lucas Moura finished off a brilliant counter-attack.
Spurs then made it 2-2 on the night and 3-2 to Ajax on aggregate, with Moura scoring his second of the game.
Chances kept on coming, with the biggest chance falling to Jan Vertonghen whose header hit the bar and his follow-up blocked on the line.
Then, just when you thought it was impossible, Tottenham scored with the last kick of the game to break Ajax hearts.
Lucas Moura’s dramatic strike sent Spurs through to the final, against all odds.
