Tottenham fans heap praise on Lucas after Ajax comeback

Tottenham vs Ajax

Tottenham faced Ajax on Wednesday evening in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Spurs would lose the first leg 1-0 in their new stadium.

However, Ajax have been better away from home in the UCL this season with their comeback vs Real Madrid taking place at the Bernabeu.

The winner of this match knew they would be facing Liverpool in the final after Jurgen Klopp’s men came from 3-0 down to beat Barcelona 4-3.

Lucas steals the show

Tottenham’s evening would get off to a nightmare start as Matthijs de Ligt put Ajax 1-0 up inside five minutes.

It was Kieran Trippier who should have been following de Ligt’s run when the corner was whipped in.

However, the young centre-back was left alone and headed in.

Ajax would add their second of the game in the 35th minute via a beautiful Hakim Ziyech strike.

Despite going 2-0 down, Spurs started the second half very well and in a very similar fashion to Liverpool vs Barcelona, Mauricio Pochettino’s side scored two before the 60th minute.

Lucas got the first in the 55th minute before adding a second in the 59th.

The Brazilian would get his hat-trick in the 95th minute putting Spurs into the final.

As a result, Tottenham fans have been heaping praise on Lucas.
