Nick Kyrgios gets brutally honest on regrets he has

Nick Kyrgios, 28, admits he regrets some of his actions from early in his career as the Australian tennis star confesses in certain situations he should have acted and reacted better. From the moment Kyrgios introduced himself to the tennis world with his 2014 Wimbledon quarterfinal run, he started drawing positive and negative attention to himself. On the court, Kyrgios was able to beat Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the start of his career. But also, Kyrgios was causing controversy and drama with his acts, reactions and certain comments. Now, Kyrgios feels his relationship with fans and crowds around the world has improved over the last few years. 

Kyrgios: Probably should not have done some things back in the day 

"Back in the day when I used to show up to places it was like, even for practice, I needed extra security guards compared to the other players because of the hate. People used to hate seeing me on the courts. I used to be addicted, knowing it could spoil someone's day. Sometimes, when I watch my highlights back and I realize, I probably should not have done that. There's some regret in some of my actions obviously. I'm not going to sit here and say it was always warranted. I used to love it. Not so much anymore. When I go out to stadiums around the world now it's like people are cheering, people are going crazy, people wanting to see the show and they're very supportive. Being loved is better, being appreciated and being supported," Kyrgios said on Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV. In 2022, Kyrgios enjoyed his best year on the Tour and he was a fan favorite pretty much wherever he went. Also, it is not a secret that tournaments absolutely love to have Kyrgios as his matches always feature a sold-out crowd. Kyrgios didn't play much this year due to injuries but he is working on being able to play again at the start of 2024.
