In the 33rd week of the year, the events not to be missed are the following:

Challenge Tour - Dormy Open 2022

From 18 to 21 August the Road to Mallorca moves to Sweden, which this year hosts two events on the European Calendar: the Dormy Open and the Indoor Golf Group Challenge.

This week the Challenge Tour champions will be in Stockholm, at Österåkers Golfklubb, PAR 72 of 6,575 meters.

The event has already been played on this course in its debut in May 2021. French winner and defending champion Mory Felix, who had captured his first Tour win, will be on the field this week to defend the title.

Among the leaders of the Road to Mallorca will be on the field: the No. 1 of the ranking and recent winner of the Frederikshavn Challenge Freddy Schott, but also the English No. 5 Nathan Kimsey, together with a large group of “home” champions.

At the Dormy Open 2022, for a prize pool of 250 thousand euros, we will also see nine Italian blues on the field: Stefano Mazzoli, Lorenzo Scalise, Matteo Manassero, Aron Zemmer, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, Gregorio De Leo, Enrico Di Nitto, Federico Maccario and Filippo Bergamaschi .

DP World Tour - D + D Real Czech Masters

In the United States it is time for the finals, but on the DP World Tour there are still many events to follow. After this week's D + D Czech Masters, 12 events remain on the schedule, nine of which with prize pools equal to or greater than three million euros.

The eighth edition of the D + D Czech Masters will be held from 18 to 21 August in the Czech Republic, at the Albatross Golf Resort, inaugurated in 2009 and considered one of the best courses in the nation. The route has already hosted two stops from the Ladies European Tour (in 2011 and 2012), but it has now been a regular fixture on the DP World Tour calendar since 2014.

Past results suggest that the field favors the "top scorers": Thomas Pieters has won twice and Tapio Pulkkanen, one of the longest players on the circuit, finished second in the 2021 edition of the Czech Masters. In fact, the wide fairways and large greens allow longer players (even if less precise) to tackle the field, while the bunkers, mostly shallow, make the recovery game less demanding.

Water is abundant on the course, especially in the final holes and especially at 18, where it becomes the protagonist: a stream that flows on the right closes the fairway, as well as a lake on the left, which cuts in front of the green and must be overcome with the second shot. This hole has created quite a few problems in the past and gives spectators (and players) moments of tension right at the end of the round.

This week's field is not the best ever given the Korn Ferry Tour finals, but the excitement will certainly not be lacking. On the pitch will be American Johannes Veerman, who took his first Tour win in the 2021 edition of the event and will try to defend his title as reigning champion.

Among the players, who will compete for a prize pool of 1 million and 750 thousand dollars, experts advise to keep an eye: the Belgian Thomas Pieters, who is not only the highest ranking player in the field, but has also been twice winner of the event (in 2015 and 2019). With 14 starts this season and 4 top 10 finishes (including a win in January in Abu Dhabi), Pieters is in good shape.

Among the favorites on the field are also Frenchman Victor Perez, who like Pieter, has a win this season and proved solid at the St Andrews Open Championship (34th) and American Sean Crocker, runner-up l 'last year and recent winner of the Hero Open at the end of July, whose familiarity with this path could spur him to make an encore of victories.

PGA Tour - BMW Championship

After Will Zalatoris' victory at the FedEx St Jude Championship, the FedEx Playoffs field has been reduced to 70 players for this week's BMW Championship. Taking a first look at the entry list, however, it is noted that on the course of the Wilmington Country Club, in Delaware, there will be only 69 entries since the world No. 2, the Australian Cameron Smith, was forced to retire due to a problem at the hip. A decision that, fortunately, will not cost him his place in next week's Tour Championship (when the cut to just 30 players will be made for the Eastlake playoffs) but which will almost certainly be relegated.
