Several tennis tournaments have been hosting virtual events for their fans during the tennis shutdown. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all tennis tournaments till the 12th of July have been cancelled with many expecting that more events may be affected due to the current global pandemic.

Meanwhile, the organisers of the Mutua Madrid Open have announced the creation of the Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro, an innovative tournament that will be a virtual replica of the tennis competition with the world’s biggest tennis stars squaring off from their own homes. The tennis players will clash in the Manolo Santana Stadium, recreated on the Tennis World Tour video game, where they will swap tennis rackets for a game controller.
