The US Open Tennis Tournament hosted a virtual bracket tournament with a competition between past winners which included tennis legends ranging from Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors amongst others.
The matches were contested by a series of fan polls online with winners being determined by those who got the most votes.
Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Russian Marat Safin were those who reached the final, where Safin triumphed over Nadal with 60% of the respondents voting for Safin.

With the tennis season shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several tennis tournaments have been having virtual bracket events for fans to vote online via Twitter.
The organisers of the Mutua Madrid Open have announced the creation of the Mutua Madrid Open Virtual Pro, an innovative tournament that will be a virtual replica of the tennis competition, with the world’s biggest tennis stars squaring off from their own homes. The tennis players will clash in the Manolo Santana Stadium, recreated on the Tennis World Tour video game, where they will swap tennis rackets for a game controller.
