Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross retain SmackDown tag team titles

In something of a surprise, Carmella and Dana Brooke not only formed a tag team out of nowhere, they were given a shot at the women’s tag team titles by simply asking for one. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, who just won the championship at WrestleMania 36, put those titles on the line on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

There wasn’t much to it.

Carmella and Brooke were never really a threat to win the titles, that much was clear. After all, the latter had already qualified for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and the former has a match set up next week to attempt to do the same.
