After Benoit Paire managed a comeback from one set down against Chilean Jarry to bring Australia’s first point in the draw, he was asked about what he has enjoyed most in Australia since his arrival. The French player had a very funny response.
“A lot of things… girls, yeah, I’m joking (laughing)”, said Paire.
This is not the first time when the charismatic player praises the women from a specific country. He did so in an interview in November when he was asked to name the three things he loves most about France.
“The food, for sure. The girls are beautiful in France. And I like the crowds.”, Paire answered.
Regarding his private life, Benoit was rumored to have ended his two years relationship with Tamara Marthe a.k.a. Shy’m, a 34 years old pop and synth-pop singer. Tamara, however, kept a low profile, although she has been seen supporting Paire during a few of his matches.
Switching back to tennis, Paire had a hard time getting past Nicolas Jarry. Lucky for him and his colleagues, he grasped the victory after a tight 6/7, 6/3, 6/3. No wonder that he was so happy after his triumph. Moving forwards, Paire will have a more difficult time in the next ATP Cup tie as Team France will meet Novak Djokovic’s Serbian squad. Djokovic and co. crushed South Africa without any problems, the final score being 3-0.
