SmackDown’s numbers up for Survivor Series go home

The Battle For Brand Supremacy put the show back in the upper end of what looks to be its new range.

Last week, I theorized product quality could have been the cause of the dip in SmackDown’s ratings and viewership. After all, a live show underperformed a taped one - seemed reasonable to me. Many in our community disagreed, with some pointing out this was just the WWE show settling into its level on a new night and network.

Based on this week’s numbers, you were right, and I was wrong.

The final push to a major PPV, and the promise of cross-brand battles, probably played a factor. But it’s also starting to look like SmackDown is gonna be within 10% or so of 2.5 million viewers and a .5 in the all important 18 - 34 demo on Fox Fridays.
