In an interview the Eurosport pundit Mats Wilander commented on Rafael Nadal's chances to win Wimbledon. The Spaniard won two titles there in 2008 and 2010, lost three finals (2006, 2007 and 2011) and last year he was beaten by Novak Djokovic in an epic semifinal. "Rafa can win against anyone in a very aggressive match. He will be tough to beat. He was relieved after winning again in Paris. All he wins from now onwards will be a bonus for him. Everything depends on the weather for Nadal. If it's dry and hot in London, his chances to win get bigger", said Wilander.

On the gap between the younger and older players, the Swede added: "I think the question for the younger players is: do they know how to win a a Grand Slam? Players like Kei Nishikori, David Goffin, Grigor Dimitrov and Dominic Thiem got close to win a Major, but do they know how to win a Grand Slam championship clash? So far, it seems they do not know it and that's a big part of the problem for them. I do not know it Thiem can win a Grand Slam as long as Rafa and Novak keep playing."

On Serena Williams, Wilander concluded: "She plays on grass for three weeks a year. I think she prepared as well as possible. Serena can win a Major this year or next year. I think a tennis player cannot win anything only when he is 40 years old. Serena is 37, so I will watch her closely."
