Sami Zayn isn’t making the trip to Jeddah with most of the WWE roster this week. Zayn, who is a Canadian of Syrian descent, reportedly won’t work June 7’s Super ShowDown or any of the company’s pay-per-view (PPV) events in Saudi Arabia due to tension between the hosts and Syria.
So what’s a guy to do with a free weekend?

The specific start time of Zayn’s fundraiser has raised some eyebrows, seeing as it’s at the same time as the main Super ShowDown card starts. There’s probably a bit of a message there. But the important thing is the mission, which is just Sami’s latest attempt to help with humanitarian efforts in war-torn Syria.
If wrestling fans want to read anything into that? It’s still for a good cause.
