Rising Australian star Alexei Popyrin felt a relief after achieving his goal of breaking into the top-100 this year.
The 19-year-old rose two spots on this week's updated ATP list as he is now enjoying a career-high ranking of No. 99 in the world.
The Australian, who started the year ranked at No. 147, has been improving and getting better since the season started.
"At the start start of the year the goal was to crack the top 100 has quickly as possible – took me half a year,” Popyrin exclusively told Tennis Australia.
“But now my team and I are going to set new goals and we’ll try and crack those.
“(I’d been) just outside top 100 for a couple of months already. So to get into the top 100 was definitely a relief. It just shows how I work hard and I kept positive and I kept just grinding away and trying to get that goal that I set at the start of the year."
Popyrin is now aiming to make it.past the Wimbledon qualifying event and make his main draw debut at the tournament.
The Australian beat Federico Coria in the qualifying first round as he plays next against Mats Moraing.
