TCU offered a stark foreshadowing of its likely role in determining a national champion. The TCU men's team will certainly have a leading role in the coming months, thanks to the performances it is offering.

The Horned Frogs beat Oklahoma State 4-0 on the courts that will host the Big 12 Championship, which will be held from April 18 to 20, and will compete for the NCAA team and individual titles the following month.

Tomas Jirousek and Kaj Quirijns won 6-1 on court three over Alex Garcia and Carl Roothman on court three earlier in the game. Jirousek, a fifth-year senior, and freshman Quirijns played their first game together.

Duncan Chan and Lui Maxted grabbed the doubles point shortly after, downing Isaac Becroft and Alessio Basile by a 6-2 margin. Jack Pinnington and Pedro Vives teamed up for the first time ever on one. They trailed Tyler Zink and Erik Schiessl 4-3 but were serving at the time of serve. Jirousek triumphed 6-1 in the first set against Schiessl in the fourth, who was also forced to retire and gave TCU a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Julian Alonso earned his second doubles singles victory at six not long after the walkover at four. He defeated Roothman 6-2, 6-0 and improved his season singles record to 4-2.

Pinnington, who celebrated his 20th birthday on Saturday, earned the decisive victory. He defeated 18th-ranked Zink, 6-3, 6-2, in the top flight. Pinnington, b. 8 in the ITA singles rankings, he has won four of his last five matches, all on court one. The sophomore boasts a team-leading 24-7 singles record, with 18 victories coming against ranked opponents.

Maxted, who entered as the winner of seven of his last eight completed matches, led Garcia 6-3, 4-4. On court five, Duncan Chan took what was seemingly an insurmountable 6-4, 5-3 lead over Basile.

Coach David Roditi said after the win: “Great road win here. We bounced back from a loss. I think the guys did a great job here at OSU. It's one of our favorite places to go for the class, the coaching staff here and the players. We always feel very welcome. It's always a battle.

Our guys responded exactly the way we wanted them to respond. Oklahoma State was supposed to play Florida a couple of days ago, so we took advantage of that. Really proud of the way our guys bounced back, and now we go home and get ready for three conference games. We finished the road, proud of today's win, go Frogs."

The Horned Frogs improved to 16-3 overall and 2-2 in the Big 12. TCU played its fourth straight match Saturday without three-time All-American Jake Fearnley and Sebastian Gorzny, the nation's No. 2 doubles player The Horned Frogs have won four straight meetings and 12 of the last 13 meetings between the programs.
