The 9-time Wimbledon winner is one of former US President Donald Trump's biggest critics. Navratilova has often attacked and criticized Trump for his controversial political views and his statements. Navratilova, in recent hours on X, criticized Trump, calling him a psychopath without empathy, following the statements of the former president of the United States and Republican presidential candidate on the recent school shooting, in Iowa. The incident occurred on Thursday 4 January at Perry High School, when a 17-year-old boy killed a child, killed 5 students and the Principal, before committing suicide. Trump downplayed the tragedy, saying, "I want to send our support and deepest condolences to the victims and families affected by yesterday's terrible school shooting in Perry, Iowa. To the entire community: We love you, we pray for you, and we ask God to really heal and comfort the whole state and the pain that you are feeling. This is something very unique to your state. We are truly with you, as much as anyone can be. It is a very terrible thing that has happened. And it's just terrible to see this happen. It's just terrible. So amazing to see it here. But, we have to get through it. We have to move forward."
