DP Tour, Louis Oosthuizen won in South Africa

South Africa's third consecutive triumph on the DP World Tour has raised the excitement of their nation. After the brilliant performances of Dean Burmester, champion at both the Joburg Open and the South African Open, the time has come for Louis Oosthuizen to make his mark. At Malelane, the 41-year-old from Mosselbaai, already champion of a Major with The Open in 2010, earned the 23rd edition of the Alfred Dunhill Championship, albeit in a sprint with his compatriot Charl Schwartzel, who finished second with 272 (- 16). The South African hat-trick was completed by Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who took third place with 271 (-14). A top-class success in a very high-level competition, characterized by great determination and impeccable style.

On the magnificent golf course of the Leopard Creek Country Club, with a par 72 course, Andrea Pavan gave a top performance. Our Italian champion ranked in 14th place with 281 points (-7), overtaking Renato Paratore (69 70 71 73) and Edoardo Molinari (70 73 72 68), both positioned in 20th place with 283 points (-5). Pavan, thanks to a final round of 71 strokes (-1), with four birdies (three of which were obtained in the first holes, while the fourth came on the 18th hole, the last), obtained his second consecutive Top 20 after last week's 17th place. Paratore, on the other hand, had finished second at the South African Open, but gave Malelane some regrets after a double bogey on the 18th hole (par5) which prevented him from matching Pavan's excellent result. Edoardo Molinari on the other hand smiles, the player from Turin recovered after his last disappointing exit at the cut and concluded the event in the best possible way, gaining 30 positions thanks to an excellent round in 68 strokes (-4) with five birdies and a single bogey. On the same course, Francesco Laporta placed 48th with 288 shots (70 71 75 72, par).

During the cut, golfers Lorenzo Scalise placed 75th with 145 (+1), Matteo Manassero in 83rd with 146 (+2), Guido Migliozzi and Filippo Celli came in 116th with 149 (+ 5). These are the current results of the athletes who participated in the race. The competition was very intense and the participants gave their best to achieve the best possible score. For Per Oosthuizen, a South African golfer, this is an important milestone, his tenth career success on the DP World Tour, including a Major. His exceptional performance earned him the sum of 255,000 euros, in a total prize pool of 1,500,000 euros. Unfortunately his opponent, Schwartzel, failed to win the tournament, despite having won in 2004, 2012, 2013 and 2015. The DP World Tour, after the event in South Africa, moves to Mauritius where, from 14 to 17 December, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open will take place. The competition will also see the participation of four Italian golfers: Migliozzi, Paratore, Manassero and Pavan.
