Novak Djokovic said it was his "pleasure" to have NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers in the stands for his US Open match as the Serbian tennis superstar highlighted he "respects the greatness." On Sunday, New York Jets star quarterback Rodgers watched Djokovic's US Open round-of-16 match at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Djokovic, a record 23-time Grand Slam champion, didn't fail to deliver in front of Rodgers as the second-seeded Serb ousted Borna Gojo 6-2 7-5 6-4.

I hope he enjoyed himself. Obviously him, Tom Brady being in my box for Roland Garros finals, and sitting next to my wife, was a huge honor. I have a relationship with Tom for several years. We go back. I have tremendous respect for him. Yeah, I mean, I try to maintain and nurture relationships with athletes from different sports because, as an athlete, of course I relate to them, I identify myself with what they are doing, and I can understand the pain, the sacrifice, the dedication. I respect the greatness, especially the guys that have made it to an all-time great level in their respective sports. Those are the kind of people that you want to be around. You want to learn things from them because you never know, there are things that can be so inspirational, as they are in my relationship with Tom," Djokovic explained. Meanwhile, Djokovic bounced back well after surviving a scare a round earlier. In the US Open third round, Djokovic was down by two sets before coming back to beat Laslo Djere. Against Gojo, Djokovic got the job done in straight sets and this time there was no drama in the Serb's match. Now, Djokovic is set to play against Taylor Fritz in the US Open quarterfinal.
