Johnson talks about the wildcards and about RomeJohnson talked also about the Wildcards, on the eve of the Italian away: "Wild cards? It's never easy to make choices, but together with all the staff I can say that we are sure we have made the ones we consider the best. It's true, we haven't won overseas for 30 years.
But the past is the past and we want to think about the present. This detail represents an additional incentive to do well. Rome is always beautiful, this city makes me feel younger. Being able to admire St. Peter's Basilica from the field is something truly unique."
The American, enthusiastic about the course that will host the event, the said: "The course is in fantastic condition, the greens are impeccable as are the fairways. But the part concerning the rough is treacherous, difficult. In view of the event we will also need to evaluate the variable of the weather, it is not usual to play a Ryder Cup in this heat. What if I say something about the pairings in view of the Ryder Cup? Absolutely not, obviously."
