Novak squandered a game point at 4-4 and got broken after Andrey's attack and a forehand winner. Rublev served for the opener in game ten and held at 30 after a service winner to build a 6-4 lead in 45 minutes. Djokovic raised his level in the second set and broke his opponent two times in a row to clinch it already in an early stage. Novak held at love in the first game and grabbed a break in the next one. The Serb wrapped up the set with a hold in game seven, leveling the overall score and gaining a boost. Rublev created five break points in the third set's early and late phases. Djokovic denied them to keep his serve intact and earned a break in the fifth game to make the difference. The Serb came from 40-15 down in the second game and forged the advantage with a return game at 2-2. Novak served for the set at 5-4, and the game became a roller coaster ride. Rublev denied four set points and created three break chances, squandering them and allowing Djokovic to seize the fifth set point and move two sets to one in front. Novak broke Andrey in the fourth set's third game and served well to maintain the lead. Djokovic fired a backhand down the line winner in the ninth game for three match points on the return.
