Andrew Castle offers take on chances of someone stopping Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon

Andrew Castle thinks there is only one way of stopping Novak Djokovic at this year's Wimbledon and that's to "whack him off the court."

Djokovic, 36, has won the past four Wimbledon editions.

Going into this year's Wimbledon edition, Djokovic is widely regarded as the No 1 favorite to repeat as the champion.

Castle, a former British player, acknowledged that beating Djokovic at The Championships this year will be an extremely difficult task.

“I think somebody needs to serve him off-court and catch him by surprise because otherwise I've no idea how anybody can walk out on Centre Court and think they're going to beat Novak over five sets. They're not going to beat him for conditioning. So they've got to whack him off-court," Castle told Express-Sport.

Castle on the players that could potentially stop Djokovic at Wimbledon.

When asked to name players that could potentially be a threat to Djokovic, Castle provided five names - Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe.

But after naming five players that could potentially be a threat to Djokovic, Castle noted that he doesn't really expect to see any of them stopping the Serb.

“So I don't see them as particularly huge threats to him. They can all play magnificent tennis, we know that, but on that particular surface against a man who's won it seven times? I don't know. I still look at Tsitsipas as somebody that should do great on grass. Listen, let's be honest, Novak's to the man to beat. That's not news," Castle said.

In 2017, Djokovic retired injured in the Wimbledon quarterfinal.

Since then, Djokovic has won his last 28 matches at Wimbledon.

By beating Nick Kyrgios in the 2022 Wimbledon final, Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon title.

This year, Djokovic will be chasing his eighth Wimbledon title - with which he would tie Roger Federer's all-time Wimbledon record.
