Iga Swiatek said she enjoyed a very memorable time in the Spanish capital despite falling just short of winning the Madrid Open.
Swiatek, who was seeded at No 1, made the Madrid final before suffering a 6-3 3-6 6-3 loss to Aryna Sabalenka.
Even though it was certainly disappointing for Swiatek not to leave Madrid with the title, the Pole still enjoyed two good weeks in Madrid as she was able to do several interesting activities that made her happy.
"Another one in the books. It's been a great challenge and privilege to play in Madrid. A lot of good days at the office, amazing food, coffee and new memories - that will stay with me. See you in Rome!" Swiatek tweeted.

After losing to Sabalenka, Swiatek insisted there "were no any big regrets."
"We just played on a good level, but [Sabalenka] was better today. Maybe sometimes I could be more proactive, but honestly, I think we both played good. I don't have any big regrets," Swiatek said after losing the Madrid final.
Also, Swiatek acknowledged it was a very tight final loss against Sabalenka.
"I think [the final] was really tight, and it was a matter of kind of a few centimeters, you know, and sometimes it's in, sometimes it's out. But I did my best to keep the intensity and still keep the control here. Maybe next year I'm gonna know better if I can do even more or not, but for sure I did 100 percent of what I could, so no regrets," Swiatek said.
This week, Swiatek will kick off her Rome title defense.
In Rome, Swiatek is the top-seeded player and the top favorite to win it all.
After a first-round bye, Swiatek will play against the winner of the match between Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Sara Errani.
Swiatek won Rome in the last two years and the Pole is now aiming to win it all for a third consecutive year.
