Stuttgart tournament director Markus Gunthardt heaped praise on Emma Raducanu and Cori Gauff as he is certain the two young stars could win it all this week.
Raducanu, 20, and 19-year-old Gauff are set to make their second appearances in Stuttgart.
Last year, Raducanu reached the Stuttgart quarterfinal before losing to Iga Swiatek.
On the other side, Gauff didn't really have an impressive Stuttgart debut after losing to Daria Kasatkina in the first round.
"It’s wonderful that Coco and Emma are coming. They are two very promising players and unquestionably an enrichment for our tournament," Gunthardt said, per Sportskeeda.
Stuttgart boss: Raducanu, Gauff could win StuttgartStuttgart is set to feature some of the biggest names of the game such as Jabeur, Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Caroline Garcia, etc.
"Without doubt, Coco has the potential to become the world No 1 at some stage. She has just turned 18 and has a lot of time ahead of her. The question is whether she will actually manage it as she is up against strong competition. In my view, she’s a top player that is improving all the time, very athletic and a fighter and somebody that has everything it takes to establish herself at the top. She’s definitely capable of going all the way to the final here, and winning (the title). The same basically goes for Emma. She’s after all a Grand Slam winner which is not something many players can say. She’s not considered to be a clay court specialist, but if things go her way, she can go for the title despite the tough competition," Gunthardt added.
Raducanu has been handed a very tough draw in Stuttgart as she is set to meet 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in the first round.
Should Raducanu beat Ostapenko, she would then meet Ons Jabeur in the round-of-16.
Meanwhile, Gauff is set to play against Veronika Kudermetova in the Stuttgart round-of-16.
Raducanu and Gauff are not in the same part of the draw as they could only meet in the Stuttgart final.
