Feliciano Lopez, 41, says he considers himself "lucky" knowing that he had a chance to compete against Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
Lopez, a former world No 12, is retiring from pro tennis in 2023.
"Those of my generation are lucky; when I am old, I will be able to say that I was lucky to play against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic; not everyone can say that. I feel lucky to have played against the best three in history; they have put tennis at a level that it was not there and that helped us all. It is fair to be grateful to those three teachers," Lopez said in Acapulco, per Sportskeeda.
How did Lopez do against Nadal, Djokovic & Federer?Lopez and Nadal have played against each other 14 times.
Even though Lopez has a negative head-to-head against Nadal, he has still had some success against the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
Lopez, who defeated Nadal when they first met in 2003 Basel, has four wins and 10 losses against Nadal.
Against Djokovic, Lopez has played 10 times and he has one win and nine losses.
After losing his first seven meetings against Djokovic, Lopez claimed his first victory over the Serb in 2016 Dubai.
Back then, Lopez was up by a set when Djokovic retired their match.
Against Federer, Lopez didn't have any success as he was beaten in each of their 13 meetings.
This year, Lopez is playing in just a few selected tournaments.
This week, Lopez played his first tournament of the season in Acapulco.
In Acapulco, Lopez defeated Christopher Eubanks in the first round before losing to Frances Tiafoe in the round-of-16.
Lopez is also expected to play in Barcelona and Mallorca.
Last week, Lopez revealed that he asked the Queen's Club to grant him a main draw wildcard.
If he receives a main draw wildcard into Queen's - where he is a two-time champion - Lopez will retire there from pro tennis.
