The Navarran golfer Carlota Ciganda (65) has made six birdies without fail and shares the lead after the 1st day of the LPGA Dana Open with the South Korean Hye-Jin Choi and the Chinese Ruoning Yin.
Ciganda made birdies on holes 2, 3, 10, 11, 13 and 18 to sign 65 strokes, one less than her immediate pursuers, including South Korean Hyo Joo Kim, American Lexi Thompson and Australian Lydia Ko (66 ).
Although Ciganda hasn't won on the American tour since 2016, when she posted her two LPGA wins, Ciganda has six titles on the European tour, most recently last July in Spain. She attributes her recent successes to a change in caddy.
