The organization of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, which will be played from October 13 to 16 at the Real Club Valderrama, has announced this Tuesday a special offer coinciding with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Ryder Cup being held at this legendary course.

Tickets go on sale for seats from 15 euros, to be purchased until August 1, to attend this tournament in a field that holds the record for events hosted on the 'DP World Tour' in Spain.

Last year, more than 36,000 spectators experienced this spectacle at the foot of the field in Valderrama, in a tournament valid for the Race to Dubai, which was won by the British Matthew Fitzpatrick with six shots under par.

The participants for the next edition have not yet been announced, but it is expected that the relationship will be in line with the potential shown every year in the tournaments held in this venue since the 1990s.

Among the winners in the demanding Valderrama course, in past editions of the Volvo Masters the British Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle and Justin Rose, the German Bernhard Langer or the Scottish Colin Montgomerie have registered their names.

To them, we must add the two champions of the 'American Express Championship', the American Tiger Woods and the Canadian Mike Weir; and Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and Sergio García from Castellón, winners of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters and also crowned in the most demanding stages of world golf (the US Open and the Augusta Masters, respectively).

The Real Club Valderrama has hosted twenty-six editions of the European Circuit (16 Volvo Masters, two 'American Express Championships', one Open de España and six Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters), to which must be added the spectacular Ryder Cup that was played in this field in 1997.

The 32nd edition of the Ryder Cup was held at the Valderrama Golf Club in the city of Sotogrande, (about 25 km from Gibraltar), from 26 to 28 September 1997.

The European team entered the competition as cup holder. The team captains were Seve Ballesteros for Europe and Tom Kite for the USA. The home team won with a score of 14½ to 13½.

The European team amassed a clear advantage in the first two days, so that they have a 10½-5½ lead on the final day. The 8-4 success in the last session was not enough for the United States, during which they touched a comeback. This was the first of six consecutive home victories in Europe: this streak is still ongoing after the 2018 edition.
