Dutch tennis legend Richard Krajicek says Iga Swiatek has a big game and a great mentality on the court.
Swiatek, 21, has been absolutely dominant over the last four months.
Swiatek has won her last 35 matches and she will be bidding to win her seventh consecutive title in a few weeks at Wimbledon.
Swiatek has been mostly winning her matches on a dominant way during her winning streak, but even when she was struggling with her game, she was able to find a way to win matches.
When it matters the most to deliver, Swiatek is always the one that comes out on top.
Krajicek: Swiatek is unbelievable"She’s unbelievable – big game and, yeah, the mentality is important. It decides a lot of matches. Of course you have to be able to play but then when it’s really close, it’s always small things that make the difference. How do you handle the bad bounces you get – literally but also figuratively? During the match, there’s always little unexpected setbacks or disappointments. If you keep lingering in it then it’s going to harm you, even beyond that point. And it’s easier said than done – I have been a player and also sometimes I lingered too long in bad points or missed opportunities, but that’s a lot of times the difference between the very top and the people below it," Krajicek told Tennis Majors.
Swiatek was scheduled to kick off her grass season in Berlin but she pulled out of the event.
However, she plans to compete at Wimbledon, where she will be aiming to win her third Grand Slam.
Swiatek debuted at Wimbledon in 2019, when she suffered a first round loss.
Last year, Swiatek reached the Wimbledon last-16 before losing to Ons Jabeur.
It remains to be seen how far can Swiatek go in her third Wimbledon appearance.
