Francesca Fiorellini won the ANNIKA Invitational Europe 2022 thanks to a par on the fourth hole of the playoff, one of the most prestigious youth tournaments on the international scene which took place on the course of the Vasatorp Golf Club (par 73) in Morarp (near Helsingborg) , in Sweden. The blue, after having closed the regular 54 holes with a total of 214 (69 71 74, -5) strokes, the same score as Nora Sundberg (69 73 72), overtook the Swede at the end of a spectacular duel in the play-off. This is the second Italian success in this event, organized by the Annika Foundation promoted by the great champion Annika Sorenstam, who in her career boasts 72 successes on the LPGA Tour (figure including ten Majors), after the one obtained by Anna Zanusso in 2018.
In the lead from the first round, closed with a score of 69 (-4) strokes which allowed her to also receive the prize for the best lap of the tournament, Francesca Fiorellini entered her name in the roll of honor of the event by going on to Meja Ortengren (champion in 2021 always ahead of Nora Sundberg) and, thanks to this exploit, she obtained the second international success of 2022 after the one won at the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur. To these two titles, there are also the National Girls Championship / Silvio Marazza Trophy and the National Female Championship Medal / Isa Goldschmid Trophy, won last week at the Margara Golf Club in Fubine Monferrato (Alessandria), where a few days earlier it had crowned the I dream of making her debut at the Ladies Italian Open presented by Regione Piemonte (a tournament in which she managed to show off alongside the best players in European golf, finishing 36 / a).

I risked a lot with the double bogey at 18 which cost the playoff, but in the playoff I managed to stay focused and win on the fourth hole.
