Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu, 22, says Serbia feels like home for her and revealed Novak Djokovic has always served as a great inspiration for her.
310th-ranked Prisacariu grew up watching and idolizing Djokovic, but her love for Serbian tennis goes beyond that, as she used to follow and draw inspiration from former top-15 players Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki.
In 2010, Djokovic, Tipsarevic and Troicki helped Serbia win their first and lone Davis Cup title.
Prisacariu, who was 10 at the time, certainly enjoyed following Serbia's Davis Cup run in 2010.
"I grew up in Serbia because I often played tournaments there when I was little," Prisacariu told Sportal. "I have always felt at home in Serbia because we have the same Balkan blood. Our two countries, we are like a family. There is something different there. I see Novak as a great inspiration for me and that's where it all begins. Of course, not everything is in Novak, I was inspired by Viktor Troicki and Janko Tipsarevic. I love Serbs, I love Serbian blood and that is something that drives me. That's why I love the football team. I am a big fan of football and that is why some of my favorite players are Serbian national team players, Milinkovic-Savic, Tadic, Racic. There are many Serbian football players that I love and appreciate."
Prisacariu loves Djokovic, SerbiaPrisacariu loves Serbia but hasn't been to the country for a few years now.
"I also like to respond to Serbs to all messages on Twitter and Instagram, I think they are good and have a nice community there. It's all over. I love culture and food and I always feel good when I'm in Serbia. I hope to come to Serbia again, I haven't been there for a few years and I want to come again, maybe for the New Year, maybe for a short vacation. Maybe I should come and watch the Serbian national team and wear the Serbian jersey and scream at the stadium," Prisacariu added.
