A difficult endgame dropped Frenchman Edgar Catherine to 14th place. The winner of the Roissy Open is now 6 shots behind the new Spanish leader Victor Pastor at the dawn of the last round.

The conditions were much easier than the day before and the scores can attest to that. If they were only six to have managed to play under par during the second day, they were thirty to return a negative card this Saturday.

Unfortunately this was not the case for Edgar Catherine the best Frenchman who had to settle for a score in par. Yet the recent winner of the Roissy Open was at -4 at the start of the 15th and flirted with the lead. A double and two bogeys on the last four holes lost him some precious places before the final round on the course at the Iberostar Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri in Cadiz.

Victor Pastor, situation

First place is now in the hands of Victor Pastor. The Spaniard took the lead after his very good 67 (-5) in a day when he only conceded one bogey against six birdies.

He is closely followed by the Swede Jens Dantorp and the Irishman Conor Purcell. The two men are only one stroke behind the leading man and with 10 players separated by 5 strokes everything is still possible for most contenders.

Finally, note that Gary Stal, the only other tricolor to have crossed the cut, signed a 74 (+2) and must be satisfied with 56th place with 18 holes to play.
