A difficult endgame dropped Frenchman Edgar Catherine to 14th place. The winner of the Roissy Open is now 6 shots behind the new Spanish leader Victor Pastor at the dawn of the last round.

The conditions were much easier than the day before and the scores can attest to that. If they were only six to have managed to play under par during the second day, they were thirty to return a negative card this Saturday.

Unfortunately this was not the case for Edgar Catherine the best Frenchman who had to settle for a score in par. Yet the recent winner of the Roissy Open was at -4 at the start of the 15th and flirted with the lead. A double and two bogeys on the last four holes lost him some precious places before the final round on the course at the Iberostar Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri in Cadiz.

Victor Pastor, situation

First place is now in the hands of Victor Pastor. The Spaniard took the lead after his very good 67 (-5) in a day when he only conceded one bogey against six birdies.

He is closely followed by the Swede Jens Dantorp and the Irishman Conor Purcell. The two men are only one stroke behind the leading man and with 10 players separated by 5 strokes everything is still possible for most contenders.

Finally, note that Gary Stal, the only other tricolor to have crossed the cut, signed a 74 (+2) and must be satisfied with 56th place with 18 holes to play.

Víctor Pastor has made his big debut on the European Tour after being invited by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG) to participate in the Spanish Open. The captain of the University Golf Program Malaga has played 4 incredible days at the National Golf Center, where more than 47,000 fans gathered, breaking attendance records

Pastor has finished his participation in the Spanish Open with a total of -13 under par, which allowed him to finish in the top 15 with the best figures in European golf. Chapo!

Víctor Pastor's first day was heart-stopping, coming to lead the day at times, above players of the stature of Jon Rahm and Nacho Elvira, with 67 shots (-5 under par), followed by 72 shots in the second round, 69 strokes in the third and finishing the fourth round and last day of the tournament with an eagle putt on the 18th hole to achieve 67 strokes, finishing in T12

Víctor concluded his day incredibly emotional, as expected, with the Spanish flag accompanying the incredible applause of the public that has followed him with affection during his participation.
