Japan's Kei Nishikori, 30, says he has been practicing well lately and he is aiming to come back stronger.

The Japanese hasn't played since he underwent an elbow surgery last October.

Former world No. 4 Nishikori hoped he would be ready for the beginning of this season but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

The 30-year-old further pushed back his comeback date when he pulled out of several events in February and also missed this month's Davis Cup action.

"Hi, I'm in Florida. We are a bit short of supplies in the supermarkets here, but I've had good practices lately," Nishikori said on keisapp.com, as revealed by Seiadoumogera/Twitter.

"I am not yet sure when that will be, but I'm trying hard to come back stronger."

On Tuesday, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed for 2021 because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Nishikori, now ranked at No. 31 in the world, was "relieved" to hear the Olympics didn't get cancelled.

"I'm relieved to hear the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed, because the Games have not been cancelled and I think it's a good decision for all players," Nishikori said.

"I'm sure there are players feeling disappointed with that, especially those who have been working hard for the Olympics, but some players can't even practice now (so the postponement is a better and fair decision for everyone).

"I'm really happy to have the Olympics in Tokyo in 2021. I'm looking forward to that and going to try to be ready for that to take advantage of the opportunity. Let's take precautions and do our best to improve the difficult situation as soon as possible!"
