WrestleMania 36 is “TOO BIG FOR ONE NIGHT,” which is really just WWE responding to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and doing its best to adhere to CDC recommendations for large gatherings. They don’t want too many people in the same place at the same time while trying to practice social distancing. That means breaking down the WrestleMania 36 match card over two nights.
With that in mind, I took a stab at doing just that. Here’s what I came up with, based on the announced matches up to this point:
Night one
- Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE championship)
- Undertaker vs. AJ Styles (Boneyard match)
- John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
- Bayley vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina (SmackDown women’s championship)
- The Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza (Raw tag team championship)
- Elias vs. King Corbin
Night two
- Edge vs. Randy Orton (Last Man Standing)
- Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler (Raw women’s championship)
- Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns (Universal championship)
- Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair (NXT women’s championship)
- Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
- Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley
I’m a firm believer that Edge vs. Orton should headline the traditional Sunday night slot, while Lesnar vs. McIntyre is also clearly worthy of a main event slot. There are strong secondary attractions but they are just that.
This looks fairly balanced to me.
Now tell me how I’m wrong, and then give me your cards.
