Daniel Bryan is currently in the midst of working a storyline where Drew Gulak is his coach with an aim at helping him become the best wrestler he can be. That evolved into Gulak wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown with the stipulation that a Gulak win would grant Bryan an Intercontinental championship match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 36.
Ultimately, it was an assist from Bryan that led to Gulak scoring the victory.
Indeed, when Nakamura went for the Kinsasha, Bryan pulled Gulak out of the way. That led to a rollup for the three count.

“At WrestleMania, that Intercontinental championship is mine,” Bryan shouted from the ramp.
So while there continues to be a lot of rumors and reports flying around about who is and isn’t working WrestleMania 36, WWE at least showed the set up for Bryan vs. Zayn.
