Raw viewership looks bad but it’s fine

Writing about the kind of viewership WWE does for Monday Night Raw seems almost pointless at times, considering the show does around the same numbers each week. It goes up a bit and then goes down a bit but generally hovers around the same level.

It’s kind of boring!

That said, it’s worth pointing out this week that the show dropped to 2.06 million viewers for a taped episode up against a really strong Monday Night Football game. It’s even more worthwhile to look at the hourly breakdown:

Hour one: 2.36 million
Hour two: 2.06 million
Hour three: 1.75 million

That third hour is the lowest ever. Blame the close football game, or the fact that it was taped, but that’s not good! There are just aren’t big enough stars to carry the day for WWE anymore.

How much does it really matter, though, when the company just signed monster television deals and is delivering just enough to keep its partners happy with that?
