In a press conference after winning the tie over Argentina, Rafael Nadal had some nice words for his Davis Cup teammate Roberto Bautista Agut who had to leave the Spanish team on Thursday as his father died. Bautista Agut also lost his mother last year in May.
Nadal said: "The entire team dedicates this victory to Roberto and his loved ones, it's been a hard time but he is a very strong person, who unfortunately has been living very difficut moments, and even with all that he has been texting us to support us in every moment, so I want to thank him for his strength, for the support he has been giving us from the distance, I hope he finds the strength to come back and I just wish him a lot of strength."
Nadal also spoke about the difficulties of beating Argentina: "We only had an option, to win two matches. You needed to go step by step. I played a great singles match and in doubles it was about a few balls, matches are very balanced. Marcel played a great match at the net, he helped me a lot. We cannot thank the crowd more, they supported us so much until the end although it was night. The environment could not be better, people give us an extra adrenaline. Things get complicated and we need people. We need to keep giving our best to be encouraged by our fans."
