It was assumed that Pete Dunne, Killian Dain, and Damian Priest would have a triple threat match tonight at TakeOver: WarGames, emanating from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
They’ve had issues with each other since Pete Dunne snapped Dain’s fingers prior to his match to Damian Priest (which Dunne lost due to low blow). However, the added stipulation that the winner faces Adam Cole for the NXT title at Survivor Series tomorrow was added last minute.
It adds even more stakes to a match that was personal enough already.
It was a pretty fun triple threat, with first a portion of the match that saw strikes exchanged and then later the more impressive feats. Feats such as Priest delivering a Razor’s Edge to the large Dain. Or a leap over the top rope by Damian. Or a couple different moonsaults from Dunne.
For awhile, certain men looked to have it won, but the third man was always there to break it up.
Finally, Pete Dunne locked a sleeper in on Dain. Killian tried to drop Dunne, but dropped him right onto Priest. The Bruiserweight was able to then cover the Archer of Infamy for the win.
It’ll be Adam Cole vs. Pete Dunne for the NXT title tomorrow at Survivor Series!
