Liechtenstein will celebrate LGT Tennis day on December 1 with an aim to increase the popularity of the sport in the nation among children and adolescents. Among the famous Liechtenstein tennis pros, Stephanie Voigt and Kathinka von Deichmann have made it to the professional circuit.

Vogt announced her retirement from tennis at the end of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 while Deichmann is ranked No. 271. Another active player is Sylvie Zund. Both Deichmann and Zund will teach Liechtenstein's youngsters between the ages of 5 and 14 on December 1st and are looking forward to this day.

Zund commented, "There was nothing comparable in our time. We each had the tennis camps in the club. It was not all about tennis." von Deichmann comments, "When I was little, It always inspired me when I was allowed to watch bigger and better players. It is a pity that nothing comparable took place in my time. That's why I'm looking forward to this day. I hope we can give the kids the enthusiasm for the tennis sportTennis makes a lot of fun if you can master it a bit."

Zund says she also started playing tennis when she was at the age of 4 or 5. "That was like 4 or 5 years old. But in the beginning, I simply played against the wall of the house." While Deichmann says she started around the age of 6. "A perfect age for the start of a career does not exist. Just do not start too late. Between eight and ten years is certainly not wrong. It is important that the technology is properly mastered from an early age. The most important thing is that we can inspire children. They should be fun in tennis."

The two professionals will also play a tennis match between themselves on this day.
