Finn Bálor shifts his focus to Matt Riddle

With word that Johnny Gargano’s neck injury is keeping him out of TakeOver, that left Finn Bálor without a focus given that seemed like an obvious match for that show.

That changed tonight.

The Prince walked to the ring on NXT tonight (Nov. 13) and cut a promo showing his disgust for what NXT has become. He said the heart of NXT was out for weeks due to a bruise. (That’s right, this man referred to a neck injury as a bruise - some good heeling right there.) Then he turned his focus to Matt Riddle, who he attacked last week.

However, he didn’t get far before the Original Bro attacked Finn and beat on the retreating Bálor. He didn’t get far; however, as the Undisputed ERA came out to try to get one up on Riddle.

This added its own intrigue as there’s been a bit of cooperation between Finn and Undisputed. Their involvement could surely just be because Adam Cole & Co. have been feuding with Riddle as part of their WarGames match, but is it more?

We’ll have to keep tuning in to find out.

The segment turned into Undisputed jawing with Riddle, Tommaso Ciampa, and Keith Lee as Bálor disappeared. That led to a Lee/Roderick Strong match. You can read more about the specifics of that here.

When Undisputed interfered in that match and Team Tommaso tried to even the score, Finn Bálor returned to kick the crap out of Riddle. The man knows how to pick his spots.

Given Riddle is part of the men’s WarGames match at TakeOver, Finn will have to wait longer for that one on one match. But we now know his next big feud.
