Speaking on Eurosport the seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander commented on Nick Kyrgios' behaviour. The Australian player said the French Open sucks and he has withdrawn from the tournament due to an illness.
"There has obviously been a lot of talk about what happened in Rome when he smashed the racket, threw the chair, left the court. I do not care about that behaviour, it's like John McEnroe. That means he cares about tennis, that's fine. When he does not show up in a match, and now when he does not show up in the French Open, it's not good for him and for the sport, it's a bit disrespectful towards the tour but he is very young and we must not count him out.
He has still to mature as a player and he is a human being. I love him as a player and an entertainer, and when he wants to fight I love him as a competitor. He is not consistent yet", said Wilander.
