Tennis - New Zealand's Michael Venus will break into the Top 10 of the world doubles rankings for the first time after making the final of the ATP Halle Open in Germany. Venus and partner South African Raven Klaasen defeated Nicola Mektic and Franko Skugor 7-6, 6-4 in 88 minutes in the semi-finals on Friday. Currently ranked No. 11, Venus will move up one spot to No. 10 while Klaasen will up one spot to No. 9 in next week's world doubles rankings.

Speaking to The New Zealand Herald, Venus commented, "We are excited to be back in another final. We were in a lot of tough situations today but managed to find a way through. Raven and I both really enjoy playing on grass. So to be able to get this many matches in on the grass already has been a great start for us in the lead up to Wimbledon."

The duo will face Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo in Sunday's final, which will be their second final of the year after reaching the final in the Rome Masters in May.

The duo had earlier beaten Dominic Inglot/ Austin Krajicek in the round of 16 and Oliver Marach/ Jürgen Melzer in the quarter-finals prior to their semi-final win on Friday.
