American doubles specialist Bob Bryan still regularly talks to three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray as the former world No. 1 is set to return to competitive action.
Bryan, 40, underwent a hip resurfacing surgery last year but refused to quit tennis as he became the first player ever in tennis to make a successful comeback to tennis after that surgery.
Murray, who underwent the same surgery at the end of January, is also set to return to action six months after his surgery as he has signed up to play doubles with Feliciano Lopez at the Queen’s Club.
“I talk to Andy a lot, (talked with him) leading up to his surgery, and then talked a lot in the first three months of his recovery. But, he is feeling great and now he is looking at a return to tennis as well,” Bryan told ITV Sport.
Bryan believes Murray will be able to play singles once again.
“The way I feel I don’t know why he can’t be back to singles. We will see, I play only doubles — it’s not as much movement — singles is three or five sets,” Bryan added.
