Tennis - Former World No. 13 Alexandr Dolgopolov has undergone a second surgery on his injured wrist and will not return to the courts for this year at least. The Ukrainian Tennis Association posted an update on the surgery on their Twitter account in which Dolgopolov also says that he has plans to recover and then take a call about his return.

Dolgopolov underwent the first surgery on his wrist last year in August. He competed in only five ATP tournaments in 2018, winning five matches in Brisbane, Sydney and the Australian Open but losing in the first round in Marrakech and Rome. The 30-year-old has earned more than $7 million in career prize money so far on the circuit. He has won 3 career ATP titles and his best performance at the Slams came at the 2011 Australian Open where he reached the quarter-finals.

With Dolgopolov out of action, no Ukrainian tennis player will play in the main draw of Wimbledon for the first time since 2009.  We wish Dolgopolov all the best for his recovery and hope to see him back on the courts in 2020.
