There’s being a fighting champion, then a few levels above that is Kofi Kingston’s current schedule.
One night after defending the WWE championship on Raw versus a SmackDown opponent, Kingston put his title on the line versus two Raw wrestlers in the main event of SmackDown.
That all makes sense, right?
Pulling off back to back main event duties, Kingston was matched up with Sami Zayn and AJ Styles after the trio opened Tuesday night’s episode with a promo.

It’s almost impossible to have a bad triple threat match between Kingston, Styles, and Zayn, and the trio did not disappoint.

One fleeting moment during the match featured Zayn nearly becoming WWE Champion. It was that close.
Following Kevin Owens running in on the match, Zayn hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Kingston right in the middle of the ring.

Off a missed Helluva Kick, after another Blue Thunder Bomb, Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise to pull out the victory.
After a fantastic main event, will Sami Zayn be able to wiggle his way into the title picture?
