Stoke’s Jack Butland & Bournemouth
According to the Times on Wednesday, Bournemouth are considering a move to sign Stoke City and England international goalie Jack Butland.
Now 26, Butland is under contract at Stoke until 2021.
In 2018-19, Butland played 45 times for Stoke in the Championship.
The Potters finished the season in 16th place, as they never looked likely to win promotion back to the Premier League.
The Times tell their readers the following:
Bournemouth are confident of being able to sign Jack Butland from Stoke City, but the Sky Bet Championship club are holding out for £30 million to sell the England goalkeeper.
A fee in that region would eclipse the club-record fee paid by Bournemouth for Jefferson Lerma last year.
Bournemouth were also considering a move for Burnley keeper Nick Pope. But Pope recently signed a contract extension at Turf Moor.

Jack Butland & his Stoke future
Butland has appeared on TalkSPORT this week to discuss his Stoke future.
The keeper has indicated his intention to leave the Bet365 Stadium, saying:
I always will and always have given everything to the club, but I need to be in the Premier League.
I tried to get the club back there, but I know where I need to be, to be in this squad, and if something arises that is the right thing for me I have to seriously consider it.
It’s a short career and I can quickly find myself out of this squad if I’m not careful.
So yeah, that’s my mindset, I need to be in the Premier League.

Aston Villa’s expected Tyrone Mings transfer
Aston Villa won promotion back into the Premier League on Bank Holiday Monday.
Villa beat Derby County 2-1 in the playoff final at Wembley Stadium.
It was a remarkable achievement for Villa who were down in 13th place in the Championship just a few months ago.
Tyrone Mings spent the second half of the 2018-19 season on loan at Villa from Bournemouth.
Mings starred for Villa in defence during his five-month stint at the club.
The Times now believe that Villa will try to sign Mings in a permanent deal:
Bournemouth are braced for Aston Villa to try to sign Tyrone Mings on a permanent deal after they beat Derby County in the Championship play-off final on Monday to secure Premier League promotion.
The 26-year-old defender, who could cost about £15 million, was spotted at Bournemouth station yesterday still wearing his Villa kit and with his play-off medal around his neck.
