Novak Djokovic is ready to return to action much sooner than expected. The Serbian legend - who had injured his left thigh during the 2025 Australian Open - seems destined to have to miss several tournaments due to that tear, which had forced him to retire during the semifinal against Alexander Zverev.

Early rumors had suggested that the former world No.1 would miss the Doha, Indian Wells and Miami tournaments, returning directly to the red clay of Monte Carlo in the spring. However – in the last week – the Serbian media have reassured fans and anticipated Nole's participation in the Doha ATP 500 scheduled for next Monday.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has recovered from injury faster than expected and is eager to return to competition. His run at Melbourne Park ended in an atrocious mockery, but the level shown by Novak in the Happy Slam – with particular reference to the victory over Carlitos Alcaraz – leads to optimism for the future.

Djokovic and Murray still together

Another question that fans are asking is whether the 37-year-old from Belgrade will continue to collaborate with Andy Murray later this season.

Their partnership has worked very well in Australia, Djokovic thanking his former rival on numerous occasions and expressing a desire to continue working together.

The former Scottish champion will not be present in Doha next week but - according to reports from 'The Times' - he will return to sit in Nole's box in the Indian Wells Masters 1000 in March.

In an interview with 'Vijesti' before flying to Doha, the Serbian ace discussed his current physical shape: “There is no more rupture in the muscle, the injury is almost 100 percent repaired and I am ready to go to new work victories.

I have the green light from the medical team that I can train, that I can prepare. The tournament in Doha is scheduled for seven days now, so I’m sticking to the schedule. Thank God, I was able to recover quickly.”
